****Look at league settings for general rules (i.e. scoring, rosters, max moves, etc.)
After completion of auction draft each team will designate players as 1yr, 2yr, or 3yr contracts.
- Price stays the same for length of contract
- After contract ends, you may keep the player for up to 3 years adding $5 to their salary each year. (after the third extension the player becomes an unrestricted free agent.
- If a player is dropped with year(s) remaining on contract, team will lose half the value of the contract (rounding up) from their budget (i.e. 2 yrs left on contract for $35, team will lose $18 for next two years.
Every in season pick up of a free agent is a 1 year contract for $1.
Every in season pick up of a previously owned player is a 1 year contract for the value of the player.
If a player's contract gets to (0/0) and is released during the season, any team that picks him up will not get RFA rights and the player will be a Free Agent the next year.
If a player retires with years left on their contract, their salary comes off the books.
12 player Minor League roster (only players who have never appeared in an MLB game).
-Once a prospect makes their MLB debut they must be added to your Major League roster by Feb. 1 of the following season or they must be released to free agency. (they may be added to the MLB roster immediately if desired)
-Minor league players are on 3 yr contracts for $1 once they are added to the (Fantasy) team's MLB roster.
-Minor league players may be extended for up to 3 yrs (just like free agents) increasing their salary by $5 each year. (after the third extension the player becomes an unrestricted free agent.
For the First season there will be a 10 round minor league draft immediately following the free agent auction. Every year after there will be a 4 round midseason minor league draft.
Teams may only acquire players for their minor league roster through the minor league draft and trades.
Teams may not have a player with no MLB experience on their MLB roster
****VERY IMPORTANT*******
During the Free Agent Auction, do not nominate any players who have not yet appeared in an MLB game. Also do not pick up any players during the season if they are in another teams minor league system.
Japanese, Cuban and Korean professional players that are signed by an MLB team are eligible for the free agent auction draft as long as they are a) In the Yahoo player database, b) signed by an MLB team at the time of the auction draft.
If a Japanese, Cuban and Korean player is not drafted by a team in our free agent auction draft they are not allowed to be picked up until after they make their major league debut. If they have not made their major league debut by the time of our midseason minor league draft, they will be eligible for that draft.
Teams may exceed the Salary cap and 12 player minor league system during the season, but must be at or below the threshold by Feb. 1 thru the end of the free agent auction each season.
Teams may trade MLB players, Minor League players and draft picks. They may not trade money.
During the midseason draft, all draft picks from that draft are eligible. If a player does not sign with their MLB team, the player may still be kept on that teams roster (i.e. if Bubba Starling is picked in our midseason minor league draft, but decides to go to Nebraska rather than sign with the team that drafts him, the team in our league can keep him on thier minor league roster for as long as they want). If a team drops a player who does not sign with an MLB team, that player is not eligible to be picked again until they are drafted by another MLB team.
You are still allowed to make trades after February 1st and leading up to the draft, however:
1) All restricted free agents that did not have their options picked up are considered unrestricted free agents and the team that used to own their rights CANNOT trade them.
2) All players who were under contract but were cut are also considered unrestricted free agents and CANNOT be traded by the team that used to own them.
3) Any trade that puts a team over the salary cap (including cap penalties) will automatically be vetoed, since you are no longer allowed to cut players after Feb 1.
